Wanting to use the best of both Australian and International technology for the Redback, one of the first major decisions made by Hanwha defense Australia was to partner with leading Australian companies with international experience and unique Australian know how. Electro Optical Systems, a leading Australian company which has specialized in the tracking of space debris with NASA and is a world leading producer of RWS systems, will lead the design and development of the T-2000 Turret for the vehicles. They will work closely with Elbit to ensure that the best of current embedded training systems and situational awareness technology is fully utilized. And our vehicles, even those for the Land 400 Phase 3 trial, will all be built from Australian Steel, supplied by Bisalloy Steels Pty Ltd.

Whilst HDA is currently pursuing projects in the two main areas of Self-Propelled Artillery and Infantry Fighting Vehicles, our comprehensive portfolio of capabilities and reachback into the larger Hanwha Group means will allow the company to pursue opportunities in every defense Domain in Australia. Currently HDA is developing opportunities in the related areas of Munitions, and Autonomous Ground Vehicles,

HDA is working extensively to plan and market our solutions to Australia in close partnerships with the Australian industry. We have conducted industry briefings in both Australia and New Zealand and have established an Australian Industry Portal in cooperation with the Australian company Bench On. We will also be establishing an Industry Development Unit as part of our effort to build Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.

Bench On

Bench On is a veteran owned Australian company who has been asked by HDA to take their already effective and unique skill sets and develop an Industry Portal, significantly increasing the ease and efficiency by which Industry can engage with HDA in a systematic a simple way.
